‍Mitropolitkon defines what is classic in Athens. Since 1930 they have been serving Athenians the most delicious sweets from their beautiful classic shop on Voulis Street.

And I love that it's not trying to me anything more than what it is - A classic Athenian Zaxaroplasteion.

I've tried everything here. And it is my go to spot at Christmas for the best melomakarana (Greek soaked honey cookie). I suggest purchasing a variety of sweets so you can decide what you like best. Για «μανταρινάκια» και Mπακλαβού στο Μητροπολιτικόν. And then going back and purchase all over again. And did I mention they make the most delicious tortes and cakes. Well they do.

And I would remiss if I didn't give a shout out to their store sign which is classic Greek font goodness.
