Sometimes nothing satisfies like a Greek gyros (carved meat from the spit) souvlaki. So when I have a hankering that is not going away I head over to Bairaktaris for the real deal. I prefer the pork gyros over the chicken both both are good. And you can sit down like a human being and eat your delicious wrapped gyros souvlaki accompanied by a perfect Greek salad and a cold beer.

I like to watch them make the gyro souvlaki as I am always amazed at how they are able to wrap it so tightly. Some secret trick of the trade that allows the juices from all the ingredients to marinate together for one bite more tasty than the next.

I like the location in Monastiraki at the end of Mitropoleos Street but there are others dowtown.
